Appointments
Starting from Monday 24th June we will be making some changes to our GP appointments which we hope will improve the service we offer.
There will be greater flexibility to have a choice of either an appointment in person at the surgery or a telephone call (if the problem is suitable to be managed over the telephone).
The reception team will discuss this with you when arranging the appointment.
We are also aiming to give a specific time for the telephone appointments which we hope will make it easier for our patients to be available to take the calls.
Patients can continue to use our online consultation service called PATCH’s. This is specifically for any clinical matters that you feel can be dealt with remotely without the need for a telephone call or face to face appointment. If you feel you need to be seen in person, then please ring or come into the surgery to book an appointment.
We will continue to offer a mixture of book in advance and same day appointments and our reception team have undertaken care navigation training to enable patients to be booked in with the most appropriate clinician in a suitable timescale. This is why our reception team will ask the reason for your appointment so that your care can be directed to the most appropriate clinician. This may not always be a GP, we have a large range of other clinical staff at the practice such as our Nursing Team, First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Pharmacists and Physicians Associates as well as the Community Pharmacy Scheme
Patients failing to attend or cancel appointments continues to place undue pressure on the appointment book and we would therefore request that if you are unable to attend an appointment you let us know as soon as possible so the slot can be offered to someone else.
We will continue to monitor our appointment availability and make adjustments in response to changing demand and feedback.
Thank You
