Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.), 
  • Insurance claim forms, 
  • Passport signing, 
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad, 
  • Private sick notes, 
  • Vaccination certificates.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Contraception and Sexual Health

We are able to give advice on all methods of contraception and can provide contraceptive injections, implants and coils. If you would like to discuss your options please make an appointment to speak to a GP.

A range of contraception and sexual health services are also provided by the Leeds Sexual Health Service.

Minor Operations

Certain minor operations are performed in the surgery. The doctors will be able to advise you.

Immunisations

Immunisations are given at the child health clinic for babies and small children. For tetanus and travel immunisations please see the nurse.

Well Person Clinics

Well person checks are available to patients between 16 – 75 years of age who have not seen a GP in the last 3 years and patients over 75 who have not seen the doctor in the last year.

Child Health Clinic

Dr Hawkhead runs a Child Health Surveillance clinic on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Antenatal Clinic

The midwife runs this clinic on a Thursday.

Healthy Living

Preventing illness is far better than treating established disease. For advice with regard to a healthier lifestyle i.e. stopping smoking, diet, exercise etc. Please ask the doctor or make an appointment to see the nurse.
